Comments on: 2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan: The Best One Yet

I found this information while searching for info on a 1997 Honda Civic HX with CVT (continuous variable timing) I am looking to buy this vehicle for my daughter…her first car. This one has 44,700 miles and he is asking $7,000. Looking for comments or advice.

The one problem I have with the video editorial is the comment that “there is no real competition in this price range for the SI”. I disagree completely. The VW Jetta Wolfsburg equipped with the standard 2.0T is priced a bit lower (depending on options) than the SI Sedan, and puts out more HP rated @ 207 HP. I have driven both and the Jetta wins for handling and off the line performance. The SI though never failed to put a smile on my face with it’s engine at high rev levels.

While I truly love the SI Sedan, I can’t say it’s better than the Wolfsburg Jetta. Different slighty, yes, but not better, unless it’s the high revving VTEC and SI applique that is a must have for you.

Congrats though to Honda on a great SI in sedan form, I truly love it!

FINALLY, a road test website that has video and TALKS THE NUMBERS to me! I’ve been searching the internet for the past 3 days trying to find road test information (apart from tracking down back issues of tests by Automobile, Car & Driver, Road & Track, and yes–Ha, Ha–even Motor Trendy, and haven’t come up with squat until now. All the other sites are so VAGUE (example: this car can be really fast). Well, any car can be really fast if you push it off a high enough cliff!
