patrol is powered by a 3.0L 4cyl turbo diesel, not a V6. it uses part time 4wd (so until you pull the stubby lever into 4 high, you&#039;re in 2wd with drive going to the rear by use of a mechanical clutch plate LSD. it has a transfer case with high range and low range. front axle hubs usually lock in automatically but some models need to be done by hand. also available with a 5spd manual.
