Rent the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car" and you will see what GM did with the cars they made. Same deal lease them, then when they caught on and people liked them, they had to turn them back into GM, where they were CRUSHED. Never to be seen again!

I am one of the lucky applicants that were chosen to be in the program. The car is a blast to drive, it's really powerful with instant torque for quick bursts of speed. I've had it a month and put 2,500 miles on it and love just driving by gas stations and waving. The car takes about 4 1/2 hours to charge if the battery is completely depleted (which I do frequently) and I usually can get 100-120 miles from a full charge (Mini's original claim of 150 miles must have been all downhill!) There are many blogs by people that are in the program (not me though) just do a search for "Mini-e Blog" and you'll find at least 20 of them if you are interested. Tom

It's about time. It should be affordable and plentiful . Make a statement and flood the market with them. Outrageous high prices on hybrid and electric cars are killing the market. I want one.

              Regards.

I am falling in love with this car, however wondering how much power it has in terms of cc and how much watts and amp does it require for the wallbox. Thanks.

Why not add thin film photovoltaic cells to roof of vehicle along with inverter inside and charge the batteries while you drive or park in the sunlight. Seems like an easy step to take to increase range at minimum cost.

I can't wait to get my hands on one. To bad you have to be in Southern California, New York or New Jersey to participate in the field trial of the MINI E.
