FOR SALE: 1996 Black BMW 328IS with automatic transmission $3850.00 If you are looking for a nice BMW which has been very well maintained, this is the car for you. The car has 101000 miles and I have records of all the maintenance performed on the car. The tires have easily 80% tread left on them and they match. The radio has been updated to a BMW CD player instead of the original tape player. It has the 6 CD changer in the trunk. The windows were recently tinted locally and the tint has a lifetime warranty. The front shocks were replaced a year ago with Bilstein shocks recommend by BMW. All the fluids have been replaced as required by BMW maintenance schedule (some more often). The body and paint are in excellent condition. There are some minor rips in the front seats but I have installed nice seat covers to rectify this. The car will come with all the maintenance documents I have plus the Bentley manual, the Haynes manual and CDs which will allow you to find part numbers for any components in the car. The only thing that is not truly stock on the car are the front shocks described above and the ignition coils which were replaced by parts recommended by BMW. All parts purchased for this car were either from a BMW dealer or a reputable BMW parts sales outfit. I have a Carfax for the car and will be more than happy to show it to anyone if you come to see the car. According to the Carfax, the car failed safety inspection twice (within 2 weeks). This was due to a small leak in the vapor expansion tank and it was replaced once the OBD II code was identified. THE GOOD: New fuel vapor expansion tank New crankcase oil separator valve New secondary air pump with new valve New ICV (Idle Control Valve) New MAF (Mass Air Flow) controller New Oxygen sensors New High performance Ignition coils (I have the old ones and they will come with the car) New Spark Plug New Fuel Filter New Valve cover gasket Most rubber hoses under the hood Injectors were removed and professionally cleaned with all O-rings replaced. New Control arms with new ball joints New floor mats (Just put them in this week 04/28/2010) Plastic water pump impeller was replaced with the recommended metal part. Radiator overflow can and related hardware replaced in the last 2 years. The list goes on and I have the receipts for all of it. Fuel economy is about 19.5 MPG in the city (according to the onboard computer and a few test I have done with A/C on) and up to 28 MPG on the highway. I drove the car to Lubbock Texas and averaged about 28 MPG. THE BAD: I already mentioned the minor rips in the front seats. There are the usual small scratches and bumps on the body but very little. ( as far as I know, it is the original paint).
