| 1998 BMW M Roadster, Imola Red with Black Leather & Black Cloth Top, 32.5K miles.
I am the third owner of this car, the first was a doctor from upstate NY who owned it for 9 years, the second a young man from upstate NY who owned it from spring to fall. I bought it from him in 2008, as he considered using it as a driver during a NY winter “suicide”. The car was in very good shape when I bought it with just over 30K miles.
Since I’ve owned it, I’ve replaced the lower grill, installed the glove box sag fix, replaced the tires with Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec’s, installed a BMW compatible alarm, installed the Whalen bushings, replaced the speakers with Bavarian Soundwerks Stage 1 package, installed Bavarian Soundwerks subwoofer package, put in an Optima Yellowtop battery and installed a cold air kit, strut tower brace and a Leather Z arm rest. I have replaced the engine, tranny and differential oil with synthetic. Other than that, all the car needed to meet my standards was a good detailing of the engine compartment, interior, trunk and undercarriage. The top is original, and I have polished the rear window to the point where it is very clear.
So, why am I selling it? One trip down an Interstate during rush hour with my wife in the passenger seat turned her against the car, and it is wasting away being my occasional fair weather commuter car. Please note that I have removed the aftermarket stereo and satellite setup in the pictures, and have reinstalled the factory stereo. If it gets warmer, I will also reinstall the trunk mounted CD changer. Nevertheless, it will go with the car, along with the stock air box, glove box metal insert, factory subwoofer, stock battery cable & attaching parts, a Dr. Paintchip kit, the original window sticker and owner manuals.
Honestly, the only thing against the car is that I believe it needs the infamous climate control cable fix. I am asking $18.5K OBO.
