Storage2 Systems
Raise your hand if your garage or work area is a cluttered, disorganized mess. Ok, put your hands down and surf on over to http://www.storage2systems.com and check out their innovative solutions for tool storage.
With 27 patents under their belt, Storage Squared Systems (S2) definitely delivers the modern solution for tool organization woes. The foundation for this high-tech system is a panel (available in metal or high-impact molded plastic polymer), and from there, you're only limited by your imagination and storage requirements.
There are shelves, hooks, trays, bins, towel dispensers, and more. Better yet, all of the components are modular, so you can easily hang a hook from a shelf, or you can mount the hook directly to the panel, if that's what you require. The sturdy polymer hooks can support upwards of 50-lbs, so that 2" box-end wrench you've been storing can now have a place from which to hang neatly.
S2 offers basic kits that include panels, a multi-tool holder, a lower shelf, two upper shelves, pencil holders, hammer holders and parts bins. From there, you can add additional kits or individual accessories. This is by far, a more versatile and improved solution to the age-old "peg board" set-up that your granddad had in his garage.
Torq Tuf Corporation
With their innovative line of quality hand tools, Torq Tuf Corp's products fit squarely in our "Why didn't we think of that?" category. Torq Tuf Corp doesn't distribute their products directly to consumers, so if you're interested in these cool tools, you'll need to ask your local tool distributor to start carrying them.
We had a chance to play with the Torq Tuf Magnaflex-121, which is an ultra-felxible, locking ratchet that really shouldn't be called "just a ratchet." It can serve double duty as a speed wrench, and with 121 locking positions, there are few things that it can't gain access to. Torq Tuf has also put a spin on the long-standing staple of the mechanic's toolbox by making the ordinary adjustable wrench ratchet. Check out these tools at http://www.torqtuf.com.
