| News: Apple Announces New iPod |
Apple Computer released the all-new iPod on April 29, much to the delight of mp3 lovers everywhere. Long known as the pinnacle of mp3 players, the new iPod promises to place a comfortable distance between it and all other mp3 players.
Previous versions of the iPod were available in 5, 10 and 20GB sizes - the new iPod boasts capacities of 10GB, 15GB and 30GB; the largest version can hold over 7,5000 mp3s. Versions for both Windows OS and Apple OS are available.
The real beauty of the iPod system is its' FireWire connectivity. FireWire allows incredibly fast upload and download speeds, which is handy, because the iPod can be used to store and transfer just about any type of data - it's not just limited to mp3's.
Pricing for the new and improved iPod starts at $299 and peaks at $499. Weighing less than 6 ounces (with the 8-hour rechargeable battery included), and measuring only slightly larger than a deck of playing cards, the iPod is the ultimate mp3 player regardless of price. Look for an in-depth review soon.
