| Looks, feels and drives like a limousine. Extra-roomy back seat that even reclines, easily seats three adults with plenty of legroom. Much bigger than a 240SD or 300SD--it's the largest diesel Mercedes makes. Perfect for business or for a family. This car's a real workhorse. Sturdy, reliable and fun to drive.
The engine is a strong running 6-cylinder turbo diesel that is great on fuel. This car gets between 26 city and 30 hwy.
Like-new Michelin tires. New transmission installed by dealer and has a new battery and glow plugs.
Carpet and door panels look like new. All the windows are powered and come with heavy, dark tint that keeps the car even cooler in the summer, plus protects the leather seats. The stereo is an am/fm cassette stereo with powered antenna and removable anti-theft face plate.
The exterior has Desert Taupe Metallic paint that shows minor dings and scratches, a couple of minor rust spots and some sun damage on hood and sunroof as expected for a 22-year-old car. Car has been garaged up until five years ago and well-pampered. The interior is dark chocolate brown leather that is in very good condition. All seats are powered, including the rear seat, and come with two memory buttons.
The car shows 150k miles on it but the odometer has stopped working 3 years ago. The car is rarely driven since I work from home so I’m figuring it has 165,000 miles on it, if that. And keep in mind these diesels can last up to 500,000 miles.
The car is classified a "Classic" and is eligible for special insurance as low as $200 per year! The car can also be retrofitted to run on just about anything.
I have records from both dealer service and independent Mercedes mechanics as well as the Michelin paperwork. I am the car's second owner and have driven it for the past 11 years without that much expense. I've found that fixing a Mercedes--as long as you don't wait too long--isn't any more expensive than fixing an American car. And diesels spend much less time in the shop since there's less to go wrong. The car is simply too big for one person so that’s why I want to find a new home for it. These cars went for over $47,000 new and you can own one for a fraction of the cost. Blue Book high-retail today on this car is $7,900. Additional pictures upon request.
