BMW Privately Notified Selected MINI Dealer Applicants

BMW received more than 150 Mini dealer applications from its 340 BMW dealers. After much deliberation on the part of BMW, they have finally narrowed the list. Yesterday selected applicants received letters from BMW indicating that they were on BMW's short list to receive a dealership.
Factors that weighed heavily in the selection process included the willingness of the dealer to sell vehicles over the internet as well as to utilize other creative and proactive marketing methods.
It is expected that most of the dealers who received the letter will ultimately be approved by BMW. BMW is not publicly releasing which BMW dealers are on the MINI dealer short list. It is widely expected that dealers in large metro areas like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, DC will receive more than one dealer and that smaller metro areas will receive at most one.
The official list of dealers is not expected to be announced before the first week of June.
