Boxster Coupe? - 02/20/2001
The Boxster coupe rumor mill is alive and kicking.

Rumors continue over whether or not Porsche will build a Boxster coupe. Now another rumor circulating is that not only will they build a coupe but they'll build a GT version. Is this rumor built on the Carrera GT? If so it's likely to be an all wheel drive turbo and most likely won't be available as a cabriolet.
Porsche has been asking customers where there interests lie. Apparently researching a vehicle that could successfully compete against the BMW Z3, Mercedes SLK, and Audi TT.
There hasn't been any official word out of Porsche on any additions to the Boxster lineup and dealers can only speculate at this point.
If history has taught us anything with Porsche it's that they aren't likely to introduce a car that out "sports" the 911. Don't hold your breath for the Boxster GT supercar.
