Porsche may build a 4th model

By the end of next year Porsche will have three cars in it's lineup, the Boxster, the Carrera, and the SUV. In a recent article in Automotive News, Porsche chairman Wendelin Wiedeking was quoted as saying "We want to grow, and with just three product lines, there isn't enough growth potential in the long-term future." In the same article Wiedeking was quoted as being adimant that if a fourth Porsche is added to the lineup it absolutely will not be a sedan.
This leaves open room for speculation. Certainly it won't be a second SUV and a sedan has been ruled out. We also know that Porsche has said time and time again that the Boxster will be the low end of their lineup. This only leaves room on the high side. A 928 comeback? It would seem to make sense. After all, BMW has had success with the Z8, Mercedes-Benz certainly has been selling quite a few CL600's. There would appear to be room for the leading sports car manufacturer to build an exclusive touring car. We'll have to wait and see Porsche certainly isn't talking.
