WHITBY, ON, July 3 - BMW Canada Inc. has posted its best sales month in history, recording June sales of 1505 automobiles - a 24% increase over the same month last year. Even more impressive is the fact that total sales volume within the first six months of the year (6659 units) has exceeded total sales for the entire year just five years ago in 1996 (5725 units). This means that year-to-date, BMW's total sales are up a striking 24% over the same period last year.
Although sales have been very strong across the entire model range, year- to-date 3 Series and X5 sales have been particularly impressive with a 33% and 71% increase respectively.
"We've come a long way in just five years," explains Hendrik von Kuenheim, President and CEO of BMW Canada Inc. "BMW Canada is a very prosperous company because we have great people and great product. Over the next couple of years, our retail network will expand to accommodate this growth with the addition of three new retail facilities, all located in the Greater Toronto Area."
BMW Motorcycles has also posted its best June ever, recording sales of 125 units, a 26% increase over the same month last year. Year-to-date sales are up 14%.
